Five Roses Tea Bars
The client requested 2 modular self-sufficient bars that could
be utilized at various events to serve tea. They incorporate electrical
points and lighting, a sink with running water and shelves, cupboards
and drawers for the crockery and merchandise.
Ford Mondeo car commercial
This futuristic crash-test scene was created in the studio to
demonstrate the car’s safety features.
Gas Station
This was an existing location which we had to dress with antique
petrol pumps which we manufactured.
Geraas Musiek Toekennings
The premier Afrikaans music awards ceremony needed some sprucing
in the visual department. Art Director Helena Blok conceptualized
this electric fluorescent tree and background.
Glass Cage
Used as an element in a high-tech corporate video, this glass
cage was fixed into a platform buried under the sand in order
to level the glass.
Gondola
This gondola was made to carry 3 people and glide on a purposebuilt
rail to synchronize perfectly with the tracking of the camera
as the two slid past each other.
Gordon Spark commercial
In this beer commercial the outdoor bar was constructed on site
to take advantage of the cityscape.
Hardhat
This giant hardhat sculpture was 4m high and 5m wide, and doubled-up
as a round projection screen for a mining event.
Heat – Celebville
This 9m X 4.5m wall was built inside a venue, and spray-painted
by a graffiti artist during the show. The wording is cut-out and
suspended in front of the background.
House & Leisure exhibition stand
Built to showcase the artistry of Peter Kroll Tiles, this stand
was pre-built and tiled several weeks before the show. The roof
came in one piece and was lifted onto the wall sections with chain
blocks.
Intimate Connexionz
This weekly adult talk show set was designed by Paul Rudder of
Insite Designs, and was constructed in sections that can wheel
out of the studio after the shoot.
Jet Jeanius commercial
The suspended shelf is floating away from the wall so that there
is no shadow under the model.
Jika Majika 1st Birthday Cake
For their first birthday show the producers asked us to design
and build a cake that could wheel onto the set and burst open
for dancers to come out on cue.
Khomanani Aids Awareness Campaign
This Government initiative was staged at the Renaissance Area
at the SABC building in Auckland Park. The Aids ribbon element
was used as a never-ending bow throughout the venue and through
each camera shot.
King’s Hut
This was the central hut in a village that we built in KZN for
the international thriller “Panga”. Real clay was used for the
walls to reproduce the cracking that is typical of these rural
buildings.
