In the past two decades we have worked on a vast range
of projects.
Set Construction for Feature Films:
We have built the sets for numerous feature films, both local
and international productions, with large-scale construction on
location, coordination of construction teams simultaneously on
different sites, transport and erection of pre-constructed sets
in studios and sensitive environments
Location Set Construction :
In locations around Southern Africa we are able to use local labour,
transport infrastructures and resources all coordinated and managed
by skilled set construction teams
Studio Set Construction :
Sets in the studio, interiors like kitchens, bathrooms, office
environments, apartments and industrial spaces, will sometimes
require use of our store of standard flats, windows, doors, columns
and ceilings. In studio we have also created waterscapes and desert-scapes,
futuristic and period sets, and utilized large painted infinity
curves to create panorama
Hardwearing Stage and Television Sets :
We have manufactured the sets for several stage productions. These
sets must endure months of use through quick scene changes, suspension
from fly-bars, trucking of cast safely over the performance area,
and still provide the visual magic.
In a similar way, we have built television sets
to handle years of service while being moved from storage to studio,
assembled and taken apart repeatedly for the duration. These sets
are robustly engineered to achieve maximum lifespan.
Painted Finishes and Backdrops :
Painted finishes such as aging, wood-graining, surface reproduction
and texturing provide the realism on camera that makes a set believable
Backdrops and large painted cycloramas are produced
in hard or soft edge
Special Effects Rigs :
When a portion of the set must move, rotate, slide, tilt etc,
we have designed and manufactured the rigs to achieve these effects.
Our experience in model making and swing sets is invaluable to
the development of visual effects using rigs.
Some we have created include breakaway walls,
pivoting elements and floating rigs
Sculpture :
We are able to execute sculpture in a wide variety of materials
including foams and plastics, metals and fiberglass, plasters,
clays and resins
Exhibition Stands :
Custom designed and manufactured exhibition stands, point-of-sale
units and displays for trade fairs, product launches and special
events
Shop Fitting :
When creating the interior of a store, set construction fills
the gaps between joinery and fantasy. Some of the shop interiors
we have done include concrete obelisks, waterfalls, mannequins
carved from solid wood and spiral change rooms.
International Facilitation :
We can facilitate projects directly with international clients
and provide local solutions with global professionalism
